Juici Patties, a fast-food chain based in Jamaica, is the first Jamaican brand to successfully expand into the U.S. It’s growing fast through franchising while staying family-owned and keeping its signature authentic flavor.
The company opened its first U.S. location in Brooklyn, New York, in May 2025. Huge crowds showed up, proving its appeal goes beyond the Jamaican community. Juici now plans to launch 57 franchise locations across the country by late 2027, with many in South Florida and other key states, according to Black Enterprise.
The company started in 1980 when founder Jukie Chin started selling beef patties made from his mother’s recipe. Today, his son Daniel Chin leads U.S. operations and says the company is still 100% family-owned. He credits Juici’s rise to a full overhaul of its customer service system, which helped the chain become Jamaica’s top-rated fast-food brand for service.
Unlike many chains, Juici Patties didn’t rely on private equity. Instead, it uses a franchise model that lets local entrepreneurs, mostly Jamaican-Americans, run stores while the company maintains control over quality.
Daniel Chin says keeping the original taste is a top priority. The patties still use the same scotch bonnet pepper blend, though a milder option was added for the U.S. market.
With plans to reach 3,000 U.S. locations, Juici Patties is setting a new example for Caribbean businesses expanding globally while staying true to their roots.
