Tony and Elizabeth Reimonenq, an African American married couple, are the Founders of Reimonenq & Co., LLC, and are currently evaluating the potential acquisition of a Hilton hotel property located in North Jackson, Mississippi, following recent reports of the property entering auction proceedings after a loan default. The 276-room hotel sitting on six acres is one of metro Jackson’s largest hotels that includes approximately 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space and an on-site restaurant. Minimum bids will begin on the AWH-BP Jackson Hotel LLC-owned property late June 2026 at $1,800,000.
Known for its work in real estate investment, redevelopment, and economic revitalization throughout Mississippi, Reimonenq & Co. views distressed assets as opportunities for strategic repositioning and long-term value creation. According to company leadership, the interest in the property is centered around its strong location, established brand recognition, conference and hospitality potential, and the opportunity to contribute to renewed economic activity in the Jackson market.
“Our company has always believed in identifying opportunities where others may only see challenges,” said Tony. “We are continuously evaluating projects that align with our vision for economic development, job creation, and community impact.”
While no formal acquisition announcement has been made, the company confirmed that the property is among several investment opportunities currently being reviewed as part of its broader expansion and redevelopment efforts.
Reimonenq & Co LLC has previously been involved in residential and commercial redevelopment projects focused on restoring underperforming properties and creating sustainable economic growth within local communities. In July 2022, Reimonenq & Co brokered a million-dollar deal to purchase and renovate a 20-unit strip mall, transforming it into a business incubator. Known as Greenwood Plaza 2.0, the project was inspired by Tulsa, Oklahoma’s historic Greenwood District — widely known as Black Wall Street. Greenwood Plaza 2.0 has increased the number of minority-owned businesses and the economic output of African Americans in Mississippi’s Forrest and Lamar counties by providing affordable office and retail space.
The U.S. Small Business Administration named Reimonenq & Co. as the 2023 Minority Small Business Champions of the Year for their commitment to the advancement of small business opportunities for minority business owners. Also, as founders of the Linked Up Economic Empowerment Center, the U.S. SBA recognized Tony and Liz for their achievement as small business owners who have experienced the rewards and difficulties of owning a business.
“Their hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to their community have made them a success,” said Janita Stewart, district director of the U.S. Small Business Administration at the announcement of the award. “We’re pleased to be able to recognize them for their achievements.” The duo started Linked Up Inc. in 2017 to close the wealth gap by providing free financial education, opportunities for homeownership, entrepreneurship, and access to mainstream banking. Stewart said Linked Up Inc. is a major component in nurturing local ventures.
“Having a resource center to help someone start a business or grow an existing one situated under the same roof is a great asset,” said Stewart. “Small businesses and entrepreneurs need various resources to do what they do best, which is to create, make, sell something, or provide a viable service. “When small businesses succeed, so does the economy,” said Stewart.
