Club Shay Shay host Shannon Sharpe is expected to sign a new podcast deal worth over $100 million as his contract with Colin Cowherd’s The Volume comes to an end. Sharpe, who was also a Pro Football Hall of Famer, is reportedly reviewing several offers. Sources say the new contract could be one of the biggest in sports podcasting history.
Sharpe joined The Volume in August 2023 after leaving FS1’s Undisputed. Since then, Club Shay Shay, a podcast where he interviews athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and cultural icons, has quickly become a hit, growing to nearly 4 million YouTube subscribers and nearly 90 million views of his infamous interview with comedian Katt Williams. His other show, Nightcap, cohosted with Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, also built a strong following.According to Front Office Sports, Sharpe's upcoming deal will cover all shows under the Shay Shay network, including Club Shay Shay, Nightcap, Club 520 Podcast, The Bubba Dub Show, and Humble Baddies. In addition to his podcasting work, Sharpe appears regularly on ESPN's First Take alongside Stephen A. Smith.
After retiring from a legendary NFL career, Shannon Sharpe transitioned smoothly from the gridiron to the broadcast booth. A three-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame tight end, Sharpe first joined CBS Sports as an NFL analyst before becoming a household name again as the outspoken and charismatic co-host of Undisputed on Fox Sports alongside Skip Bayless. His unfiltered commentary, cultural insights, and quick wit made him a fan favorite, especially among younger audiences. Over time, Sharpe realized he had cultivated a loyal following that extended beyond sports, setting the stage for a more personal and independent platform.
Capitalizing on his rising popularity and distinctive voice, Sharpe launched Club Shay Shay, which has allowed him to evolve into more than just a former athlete or commentator—he’s become a media mogul in his own right, proving that reinvention is possible with the right mix of talent, timing, and tenacity.
