Today is an exciting time, as the next generation takes charge and leads everyone into the future, which is especially true in the Black community. Learn about a few of the young Black entrepreneurs who are making headlines and having a positive impact on the world.

Moziah Bridges

At just 16 years old, Moziah Bridges is the president and creative director of Mo’s Bows. The company started when Bridges made his own ties with his grandmother. Bridges has appeared on “The Steve Harvey Show” and “Shark Tank.” In 2017, the young entrepreneur signed a lucrative licensing contract with the NBA.

Maya Penn

Maya Penn is 18 years old and behind the sustainable fashion brand, Maya’s Ideas. Penn started getting attention when she was 10 and has appeared in numerous publications since. Penn has also been recognized by Oprah Winfrey, Magic Johnson, and President Barack Obama so far in her young career.

Mikaila Ulmer

With the help of her Grand Granny Helen’s recipe, Mikaila Ulmer launched Me & the Bees Lemonade. The idea grew from Ulmer’s obsession with bees and their role in the environment. Me & the Bees Lemonade saves honey bees all over the world, and a percentage of sales go to international organizations dedicated to the cause.

Cory Nieves

Cory Nieves started Mr. Cory’s Cookies when he was just six years old. It all began when Nieves wanted to save money to buy a car and sold hot cocoa. Nieves and his mother then started to experiment with other recipes until they landed on the perfect chocolate chip cookie. The company has now rose to success, and Nieves also works with many top brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Ralph Lauren, Whole Foods, and more.

Asia Newson

Our last young Black entrepreneur that is making an impact is Asia Newson. A Detroit native, Newson created Super Business Girl when she was just five years old. The company has become a great success with its sale of candles and other merchandise.
