"My Company Made $3.2 Billion Last Year" -- And 9 Other Top Black-Owned Businesses

Black-owned businesses are growing three times faster than other businesses in the U.S., according to the U.S. Census Bureau. While most Black-owned business generate revenues of about $100,000 a year, many of these companies make millions and even billions of dollars every year.

Here's who is on the top 10 list:
  1. World Wide Technology, Inc. - this Maryland Heights, Missouri technology company, founded in 1990 by David Steward, has annual revenues of more than $3 billion.
  2. Camac International Corp. - this Houston based oil exploration and operating company, founded in 1986, is run by a chemical engineer who was also appointed to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiation by President Obama.
  3. Bridgewater Interiors LLC - this Detroit supplier of motor vehicle parts and accessories for Ford and General Motors reached revenues of $1.1 billion in 2009.
  4. Act-I Group - headquartered in Torrance, California, this human resources staffing company is the nation's largest woman- and minority-owned company within the employment services industry.
  5. ZeroChaos - this company specializes in workforce management services and is based in Orlando, Florida. The company has revenues of $700 million and does business in 14 countries.
  6. MV Transportation Inc. - this transportation services company was founded by a husband and wife team in Fairfield, California, and boasts annual sales of $700 million, doing business in 26 states and Canada.
  7. TAG Holdings LLC - this holding company for a plumbing ceramics maker, four automobile wheel assembly suppliers and more is based in Troy, Michigan and has $700 million in annual revenue. The founder is a West Point graduate who is currently a Vice Chair of the Manufacturing Council under President Obama.
  8. The RLJ Companies- this hotel investment company has annual revenues of $578 and owns 22 properties valued at $1 billion.
  9. Bridgeman Foods Inc. - the founder of this company is a former accomplished NBA basketball player, Ulysses Bridgeman. The company manages more than 320 restaurants, including Wendy's, Chili's, Perkins, and Fazoli's.
  10. Barden Cos. Inc. - the owner of this Detroit company, Don Barden (now deceased), was the only black owner of gaming casinos. He owns casinos in Las Vegas, Mississippi, Colorado and Indiana.
