Black Founder Launches Business Co-Pilot Platform After Investing $1M to Learn What Keeps Businesses Alive

Andra C. Taylor Jr.

Andra C. Taylor Jr., the Founder and CEO of LaunchGenius, has opened the company’s Business Co-Pilot platform, a service built to address the problem that stops most early companies: not a weak idea, but the absence of a clear sequence and consistent follow-through. The platform, whose launch was fueled by his recognition from the Morehouse Division of Business & Economics, supplies a living roadmap and operating support so founders finish the work instead of stalling.

Roughly 1 in 5 new employer businesses close in year one, about half by year five, and roughly two-thirds by year ten. Survival improves with age once a business is past the early years. The most frequently cited and preventable root issue is building something without validated market demand; cash shortages are usually the final event. Traditional small businesses are especially vulnerable to cash-flow timing even when demand exists. Industry, location, capital at launch, and founder quality shift the odds. The popular claim that 90 percent of businesses fail overstates ordinary mortality and better describes the difficulty of building high-growth companies that deliver strong returns.

Founders routinely stall in the messy middle. Entity and compliance tasks, brand and marketing systems, and a growing list of priorities compete for attention with no single operating rhythm. Advice is abundant. A dated next step that actually gets completed is not. LaunchGenius was built from that gap.

Taylor invested more than a decade and approximately $1 million (cash, training, education, tools, and failed attempts) before distilling what worked into one subscription service. LaunchGenius supplies a custom 3-, 6-, or 12+-month roadmap drawn from a 333-point execution checklist and pairs it with a Business Co-Pilot that follows the plan, plus human client-success support. Members can complete a Business Launch Check (express) or a full Mission Readiness Assessment. Progress is tracked in a member portal. The base price is $333 per month.

His platform soft-launched on August 21, 2026, World Entrepreneurs’ Day. This announcement marks 60 days from that date. LaunchGenius is being built on its own platform and is currently at 42 of 333 milestones in its journey. Business owners can begin now.

Taylor is a recent recipient of a Certificate of Completion from the Morehouse College Division of Business & Economics. He is using that recognition, and the network around it, to bring the platform to other founders who are still in school, on a job, or both. “I spent years and real money learning the difference between busywork and the work that actually moves a business forward,” he said. “LaunchGenius is that learning turned into a system. You pick the goal. We help you finish it, one priority at a time.”
