Pusha T and Pharrell Team Up to Launch Grindin’ Coffee Brand Inspired By Their Music

Pusha T and Pharrell Williams are bringing a piece of their music history into the coffee business. The longtime collaborators have launched Grindin’ Coffee, a brand named after Clipse’s 2002 hit song "Grindin'," and they are now working with Italian coffee company Lavazza to expand the venture.

The name comes directly from the song that became one of Clipse’s biggest early hits. Produced by Pharrell and Chad Hugo as The Neptunes, "Grindin'" appeared on Clipse’s debut album Lord Willin’ and became one of the duo’s signature records. More than two decades later, the word has taken on a new meaning for the artists as they connect their creative work, daily routines, and coffee habits through the new brand.

According to Complex, Pharrell said coffee has been part of their creative process for years. He explained that he and Pusha T have worked together since the beginning, from making the original song in 2002 to building new projects today. For them, coffee became part of the routine that helped them stay focused while working in the studio. The new company gives that long-running habit a name and a product.

Pusha T previously described how those routines shaped the idea behind Grindin’ Coffee. He said the two would often start their days around 5 a.m., with black coffee or a strong espresso before getting to work. Their days could include long studio sessions followed by physical activity, including 25-mile bike rides. Coffee became part of a cycle that involved waking up early, creating music, staying active, and returning to work.

The first Grindin’ Coffee collection includes two roasts, a dark roast and a medium roast. Customers can get either option as ground coffee or whole beans. The dark roast combines beans from Central and South America with Southeast Asian beans and has notes of cocoa, caramel, and brown spices. The medium roast uses South American beans and features bittersweet chocolate, caramel, and roasted hazelnut flavors.

Both roasts are designed for several brewing methods, including filter coffee, espresso, and cold brew. The brand is positioned around people who keep busy throughout the day, whether they work a traditional 9-to-5 schedule or stay up late creating and working. With Lavazza now involved, the artists are moving Grindin’ Coffee beyond the idea that started with their own studio routine and into a broader coffee business.
