Renee Ayo Williams, an African American clinical research scientist with more than 25 years of experience, has launched CycleSync, an AI-powered health advocacy platform created to support Black women through pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause.
Launched in recognition of Black Maternal Health Week, CycleSync combines health tracking with advocacy and privacy tools. The platform includes features such as a Preeclampsia Risk Calculator, an FDA Drug Safety Checker, and prenatal screenings based on World Health Organization standards.
The launch comes at a time of ongoing concern about maternal health outcomes and medical bias affecting Black women in the United States. CycleSync was created to help women better track symptoms, organize health information, and prepare for medical appointments.
One of the platform’s main features is the Doctor Report, a downloadable health summary built from symptoms entered by the user. The report is designed to help women bring clear, organized information to healthcare providers.
“I am not just building an app; I am building a shield,” said Williams. “I am a scientist, but I am also a Black woman who has had to navigate this healthcare system. I built CycleSync to help women feel seen, prepared, and more in control of their care.”
CycleSync also stands out for its zero-knowledge privacy architecture, which is designed to give users strong control over their personal health data. According to the company, users decide whether and when to share their information with a healthcare provider.
To support sensitive conversations, the platform also offers pseudonymous community profiles, allowing users to connect without revealing their real identities.
CycleSync is currently generating early revenue and actively building partnerships with employers, insurers, and healthcare organizations. These partners will offer the platform as a sponsored wellness benefit for their teams.
