5th Annual Black Business Ball Set to Empower Black-Owned Businesses on October 19th

Black Business Ball

The 5th Annual Black Business Ball, hosted by Black Business Enterprises (BBE), returns to Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 19th for an evening dedicated to celebrating, empowering, and supporting Black-owned businesses. Since its inception in 2020, this premier gala has become a cornerstone event, bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members to honor the achievements and resilience of Black entrepreneurs.

The Black Business Ball is a powerful platform for fostering community, economic empowerment, and networking among Black-owned businesses. As a signature event of the Black Business Enterprises, the ball serves as an annual fundraiser, with proceeds provided as grants to Black-owned businesses that are members of the organization. This initiative aims to offer critical financial support, helping these businesses grow, thrive, and continue making a positive impact in their communities.

Black Business Enterprises (BBE) was founded by Nancy Korsah, an Italy-born Ghanaian and Twin Cities-based entrepreneur, who wanted to create a platform to help business owners grow. Her vision was to provide resources, mentorship, and support to empower entrepreneurs and help them achieve their full potential.

Based in Minneapolis, the Black Business Enterprises (BBE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. BBE is passionate about serving entrepreneurs, small businesses, and individuals striving to improve their financial standing and business prospects. The organization’s mission is clear: “To help minorities establish their worth to wealth.” Their niche is providing access to “the grid” for entrepreneurs, ensuring they have the tools, resources, and networks they need to succeed.

The Black Business Ball began as an initiative post-civil unrest following George Floyd’s passing, aimed at revitalizing Black-owned businesses in the Minneapolis area. The event has since grown into a symbol of hope and solidarity, offering a space for celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship and resilience within the Black community. This year’s ball marks the fifth anniversary of this impactful event.

The ball will take place on Saturday, October 19th, at Mosaic Venue, 817 5th Ave S, Suite 300, Minneapolis, MN 55404. The red carpet entrance begins at 6:00 PM, and the ball will conclude at 10:00 PM. The event will feature a special performance by Yung Joc, adding an exciting touch to an already remarkable evening. Yung Joc's performance is set to elevate the celebration, bringing energy and entertainment to a night dedicated to supporting and uplifting the community. Additionally, the evening will feature a silent auction, offering attendees the chance to bid on unique items, with proceeds further supporting grants for Black-owned businesses.

Event Highlights

• A Red-Carpet Entrance: Attendees will arrive in style, greeted with a glamorous red-carpet experience that sets the tone for a night of elegance and celebration.
