Meet the African American Event Planner Helping Other Entrepreneurs in the Party Business

Kimberly Perrymond, founder of Eezy Peezy Party Planning

Kimberly Perrymond is the founder of a very popular Facebook group that she created with the intention of building a small community for event planners to grow and learn together. She is using the group nowadays to help entrepreneurs in the industry stay afloat during the pandemic.

In just three years, Kim's group has expanded to over 35,000 members. In addition, her company, Eezy Peezy Party Planning, is now a growing team with 13 instructors offering over 40 tutorials with more in the works.

“What drives me particularly with this group is the number of people that we are truly helping. I get emotional when people message me telling me how much Eezy Peezy has helped their business grow. It really encourages me! Some people are just afraid to start and these classes give you the confidence to just go for it,” says Kimberly.

“I’m an event planner and I understand how hard it is to keep up with trends and learn new things. It’s important to keep growing in this industry,” she continues. “I just wanted to encourage others that it can be done. The group basically saves you research time allowing you to transform from beginner to pro in a very short period of time.”

Members of the coined ‘EZPZ Posse’ come from all around the world and from every background. Putting the tools right in their hands to accelerate their own businesses has not only inspired but also been the source of success for independently owned black businesses like Tehrie Tryon of Party Couture of Dallas, Texas. “I didn’t really know much about the [party] business before EZPZ, but now I am literally turning down orders I’m so busy,” said Tryon.

Other members like Stefanie Crawford of Ideas Unlimited Events in Westville, New Jersey says “The workshop was a life-changing experience that taught me hands-on how to transform any space. I walked away feeling confident and ready to take on any task big or small.”

Jadie Peters of Sugar Sweet Events in Hazel Crest, Illinois attributes the expansion of her established business from the community outreach within the group as well as the hands-on training. “Signing up for the EZPZ Venue Transformation Workshop was easily THEE best idea ever! Being able to work hands-on with Kim and her team is an amazing learning experience that you don't want to miss. One week later, I was able to use what I learned and nailed it!”
