Founder of College Care Club Launches ‘The People’s Box’ Powered by Black-Owned Businesses

Kamry Selley, founder of a Black-owned subscription-based care kit provider called College Care Club

Kamry Selley, the female founder of a subscription-based care kit provider called College Care Club, has announced the launch of her company's individual box called The People’s Box featuring items from Black-owned businesses.
The People’s Box care kit supports the fight against racism and promotes participation in the Black Lives Matter movement with items including a ‘Power to the People’ mask, ‘Black Lives Matter’ water bottle and copy of the book Justified Anger: How Hatred and Bigotry Triggers Trauma in Black America by Felicia Dortch and Christopher T. Williams. A portion of proceeds from the limited-edition product will be donated in support of the United Negro College Fund and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

Kamry launched the College Care Club in 2018 to strengthen collegiate communities and help parents connect with their college students through unique care packages. The company’s subscription service delivers a dose of collegiate spirit for students, alumni, and fans with licensed gear, snacks, and goodies. School-themed boxes are available for nine historically black colleges thus far, including Howard University and Morehouse College.

“The People’s Box was created to help unify our community and to invest in it,” said Kamry Selley, founder and CEO of College Care Club. “The People’s Box includes products that highlight the fight against anti-Blackness and racism, promote the efforts of those who tirelessly advance the front line, and provides personal protective equipment in these tumultuous times. If you’re looking for a way to both support Black businesses and invest in education, look no further than The People’s Box.”

The People’s Box is available for pre-order on the company’s website, with shipments beginning August 18 to time delivery before the August 28 ‘Get off our Necks’ March on Washington, D.C.
