But now, they have apparently changed their minds. Diddy, recently said during an interview with Big Boy on his BigBoyTV YouTube channel:
“I really wanted to go in there and be a part of the NFL, and try and be a positive change. This last move... I don’t even want to own an NFL team no more. I don’t want to be associated with oppressing Black men. I don’t want to be associated with telling grown ass men what they can and can’t do.”
The NFL has been heavily criticized for punishing players who refuse to stand during the national anthem. The players, however, have been sitting or kneeling in protest for the many African Americans that have been victims of police brutality and other racial issues in the United States.
Many feel that the NFL has being pressured by President Trump, who once tweeted: “If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU’RE FIRED. Find something else to do!”
Most recently, the NFL has announced that teams will be penalized if any of their players kneel during the national anthem, but that they do have the option to wait in the locker room until the game is finished.
