Black Entrepreneur Finds Sweet Success Designing Luxury, Handcrafted Chocolate

Phillip Ashley Rix, founder of Phillip Ashley Chocolates

Phillip Ashley Rix, an entrepreneur, a chef and one of the few African-American designer chocolatiers, has definitely found sweet, chocolatey success in his innovative chocolates. His chocolate brand, Phillip Ashley Chocolates established in November 2013, has already gained an international following and high-profile clients.
While several other chocolate brands can create chocolate bars, many high-profile clients like FedEx, Disney, Stevie Wonder, among others, choose Phillip Ashley Chocolates. Why? Because they make delicately handcrafted chocolates that are, in their own words, "visually stunning and breathtakingly decadent."

Phillip, who is self-taught, started discovering about chocolates in 2007. After being known locally, nationwide, then worldwide, he opened his first retail location at Memphis, Tennessee in 2013.

Since then, he and his chocolates have been highly-acclaimed all around the world. He has been named as one of the Best Chocolatiers and Confectioners in America by TasteTV. Forbes Magazine even called him "Real Life Willy Wonka." Phillip Ashley Chocolates was also the official chocolate of the 2016 Grammy Celebration. Luxury retailers such as Neiman Marcus and Horchow also carry the brand.

Definitely, Phillip Ashley is a standout. Maybe it is because each of the chocolates is handcrafted with care, or maybe it is because they only use the finest fair trade chocolate. What's sure is the luxurious, original flavors and overwhelming design of Phillip Ashley makes it exceptionally great.
