Many Black artists are using the controversial NFL protest and President Trump's recent verbal attack on NFL players, not only to bring attention to their work, but to bring revenue to their businesses. Several have painted beautiful canvasses illustrating their perspective on the issue, and some have even taken it further than that.
In addition to canvasses, some are also producing t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, and baseball caps. And although most of the apparel designs don't have any text, there is still a visual message of Black pride and solidarity.

When Opportunity Knocks...

It all started when Colin Kaepernick, who was at the time the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, began kneeling when the national anthem was played before each game. He became a hero among African Americans when he boldly told reporters, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color."

Almost immediately, artists across the country saw this as an opportunity to showcase their talents!

One artist from Philadelphia, PA, who goes by the name of Art God and Da Real Icon, has most notably designed and created a bomber jacket featuring a beautiful illustration of Colin Kaepernick. It quickly became one of his most popular selling items.

Since then, he has followed up with a canvass of both Donald Trump and Colin Kaepernick, which is also gaining popularity.

Another artist, Demar Douglas from Rialto, California, also has a popular design that has gone viral on social media. He too is selling an illustration of Colin Kaepernick on high-quality 100% cotton t-shirts.

But there are perhaps hundreds more talented Black artists cashing in on the concept in different cities, and why not?
