Black business owners should consider Georgia because it has some of the best cities for black business owners. While there are favorable cities in Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, and North Carolina for successful businesses owned by black entrepreneurs, Georgia is by far the best, according to NerdWallet.

NerdWallet, an online personal finance information services company, looked at over 100 U.S. cities to find the best ones for black business owners. Three of the best cities were located in the state of Georgia.

Atlanta: Atlanta is no surprise when it comes to a positive environment for black business owners. It has the country’s third-largest black consumer market, a healthy business environment, and low cost of living -- all good factors when it comes to black business ownership. Revenue for Atlanta black entrepreneurs is an average of $52,000.

Savannah: Savannah is an old city with a rich African American culture, including great southern cooking, which is one of the reasons by 13 million people visit the city every year. It also has 200 banks and credit unions that are ready to help black business owners with funding. Black business owners in Savannah have an annual revenue of about $66,000 per year.

Columbus: But Columbus takes first place in best cities for black business owners, especially in the areas of technology, aerospace, auto manufacturing, defense, or tourism. More than one-third of Columbus’ businesses are owned by blacks. The average revenue per year for black business owners is about $32,000.
