Social Media is Effective for Small Business, If Used Correctly!

Social media simply means connecting with your customers. It's a way of sharing or exchanging ideas with people in online communities. It can draw new customers as well as keep current customers. Here are just 5 tips on how to interact with your customers and win their business.

#1 - Encourage customers to post testimonials

When customers have a good experience with your company, ask them to post it on their social networks. Testimonials are a powerful way to get your company name out there. It is more effective for customers to talk favorably about your business than for you to talk about it.

#2 - Post testimonials on your website for everyone to see

Get more mileage from customer mentions by posting them as testimonials on your website. Testimonials represent customer reviews of their experience with your products and services, so by all means use them to your advantage.

#3 - Keep your customers informed about your company

Let them know what new products are coming soon, share industry news that customers might want to know about, and especially it if relates to your products and services.

#4 - Participate in chats on Twitter

A good place to start is to join a tweet chat as a participant so you can get a feel for how they work.  Find one that is focused around a topic close to your business or customer needs. Then see how the conversation goes. After a while, you will feel comfortable to participate and join in the conversation, and eventually even host your own Twitter chat.

#5 - Use your website link often

Continue to take your customers to your website by including the link on important pages. For example, include it at the end of the About Us page, encouraging them to check for new information posted on the site.
