When most kids his age were playing ball and watching cartoons, Moziah Bridges was learning how to sew. At the age of just 9, this young man was paying attention while his grandmother taught him how to sew by hand and on the sewing machine. And it paid off big. Now Moziah owns his own company making custom bow ties. The company has grown to a $150,000 businesses and is selling his products in seven states thus far.

How it all began

Moziah always thought bow ties were pretty cool. He likes to wear them himself because he thinks they make him look good. In his new bow tie business, called Mo's Bows, he creates fun and interesting designs in all his custom made bow ties using floral and African prints. But this young entrepreneur thanks his grandmother for teaching him and for pushing him in the right direction. “If it weren’t for my granny, I just might not be the next big thing!" states young Moziah.

The limelight

Since his start, Moziah has been on Shark Tank as well as being featured in O Magazine and Vogue. Recently, Moziah was named Teenpreneur of the Year by Black Enterprise. The prestigious Black Enterprise Small Business Award was presented to Moziah recently at the Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Conference & Expo in Columbus, Ohio.

Moziah gives back to his community

This summer, Moziah generously gave back to his community by donating $1,600 to the Glenview Summer Camp in Glenview, Illinois. His donation made it possible for 10 other kids to attend summer camp.

Moziah's future plans are to attend college and start a major clothing line by the time he turns 20. Remember his name, Moziah Bridges, because you are certain to hear more about him!
