African American Entrepreneurs Make History at New York Fashion Week

An African American world-renowned makeup artist (Kim Roxie) and an Emmy award-winning hairstylist (Hadiiya Barbel) recently made history in the world of fashion. During the recent New York Fashion Week, the most prestigious and world-renowned series of fashion events in the world, the two hosted an event called "Faces and Crowns", which celebrated a day of beauty, wellness, and networking.

The event, the only one hosted and produced by African American entrepreneurs, was attended by many fashion and entertainment industry professionals including Erica Campbell and Tina Campbell of the gospel/R&B duo Mary Mary, and celebrity stylist GooGoo Atkins. During the event, fashion designer Luis Peralta gave a runway presentation, and fashion designer Luis Peralta debuted his 2015 spring/summer collection.
