14-Year Old From Georgia Makes History, Opens Hot Dog Restaurant

Mason Wright, founder of Mason's Super Dogs

Mason Wright, a 14-year old entrepreneur from Atlanta who owns Mason's Super Dogs, has recently upgraded the business he started 3 years ago now to a restaurant - making him one of the youngest restaurant owners in the state of Georgia.

At 11-years old Mason was already eager to get a job, but it wasn't possible because of his young age. That's when he thought of a plan to start his own business. He started raising money by washing cars, walking dogs, and setting up a GoFundMe page with the help of his mother and eventually earned $6,000.

Mason started selling Mason's Super Dogs via a food cart at birthday parties, festivals, and social events. In 2018, he also sold the hot dogs on the Morehouse College wherein he was the only vendor of its kind. Due to the pandemic, the classes shifted to virtual but Mason refused to just close the business. He decided to open up a small restaurant with the assistance of his older sister.

"There is nothing like being in charge of your own destiny," Wright told 11Alive. He added that he hopes "to inspire young men to start their own business as soon as they can."

Mason's Super Dogs is popular for its delicious 100 percent beef hot dogs and handmade relish. More than that, it also offers all-natural vegan dogs, which was PETA's #5 of the 10 best vegan hot dog's in the US.
