Black-Owned Security Firm Opens $2.5 Million Headquarters in Black Neighborhood

John and Denitra Griffin, founders of AGB Investigative Services

Starting out from a home basement office in 2001, AGB Investigative Services, a security firm founded by John and Denitra Griffin, just recently opened the doors of their new headquarters worth $2.5 million. It is conveniently located in the predominantly-Black neighborhood of Auburn Gresham in Chicago, Illinois.
In 2001, the Griffins initially founded AGB as an investigation firm. Denitra, who is a doctor of Education and a former Chicago Public Schools program manager, helped lead the company to its successful expansion. With the firm's further development in management and training systems, they were able to provide more corporate services.

AGB Investigative Services is now a full-service security provider that offers expertise in all aspects of security, including physical and cyber. With the primary goal of protecting "people, property, and data," AGB combined state-of-the-art technology and physical security and education. They have over 600 security professionals who provide armed and unarmed security services, cybersecurity, private investigations, and expert-level training.

Their client roster includes Fortune 500 companies such as ComEd, Nicor, and Walmart and a number of government agencies. Aside from Chicago, their work expands beyond California, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Philadelphia, Denver and the District of Columbia.

Most recently, AGB moved its headquarters to Auburn Gresham, which is a community in Chicago with a 90 percent Black population. It may be a low-income neighborhood that is chaotic at times, but it still houses hardworking families who have owned their homes for generations.

Moreover, AGB, which also stands for "Always Giving Back," has been true to its name. More than their business services, the Griffins also give back through the Always Giving Back Foundation. Over the years, the foundation has provided more than $45,000 in scholarships and gave business internship opportunities to hundreds of local youth.
