Meet Randy and Linda Davis, an African American couple from Denver, Colorado who are the owners of The Better Mattress, the first Black-owned and operated retail mattress store in the entire Rocky Mountain region.
For over 30 years, Randy has been in the mattress industry, eager to deliver quality night's sleep to every client. Along with his wife Linda, they founded The Better Mattress to provide a wide selection of mattresses to create a better sleep experience."A great mattress is built on the foundation of comfort, support, and durability. By designing our own line, we have complete control over the materials used, allowing us to provide the best value and the most comfortable mattresses to our customers," Randy said in a statement to the media.
The couple, who is a Colorado native, opened their first storefront in the University Hills neighborhood in South Denver in September 2022. They chose the location as it is strategically accessible to I-25 and near large retail chains. There were also no other locally-owned sleep shops in the area, making it the first of its kind across the region.
The Better Mattress offers a diverse collection of over 50 different popular brands of mattresses, such as Beautyrest, Perfect Sleeper, Dreamcloud, and Therapedic. They also have carefully curated sleep products including pillows, sheets, and adjustable beds to complete anyone's good night's sleep.
