This 3-Year Old Entrepreneur is Already Making Moves as a Boss Photographer

Lana Michel, 3-year old photographer from Brooklyn

Lana Michel, a 3-year old charming entrepreneur from Brooklyn, already has the skills to work with a camera, not as a model, but as a photographer! Her father, Pascal, was happy that he discovered his daughter's interest even at her young age and he hopes to further nurture her talent.
Lana started playing with her father's camera when she saw it set up in a tripod. "She immediately ran to the camera and asked if she could take pictures. I asked, 'you want me to take pictures of you?' She said 'no, can I hold it?'... I said 'oh ok, my bad you want to do it yourself...' I turned the camera on for her, and she took charge and just started shooting," Pascal told Essence.

Without any lessons or guidance from her father, Lana staged a mini photo shoot with her favorite stuffed toys. Her exceptional eyes turned out to be a natural behind the camera, taking pictures with the right angles. Even with her tiny hands, she prefers holding the camera instead of putting it on a tripod.

"She appears to have a real interest in photography and I plan on keeping her engaged with this activity and any others that interest her along the way," Pascal proudly said. "She's only 3, but she's really smart, excelling in school and often has me in awe about the things she knows. So I wasn't surprised when she knew how to use the camera without me showing her how."

Aside from photography, Lana seems to be gifted in many other areas. At just 3-years old, she was accelerated from her daycare to pre-K. "I felt like they told me she got into Harvard. I cried I felt so proud... I often wonder if I'm doing a good job as a father, and every day she shows me that I am."
